Sundance Time

It's time for the annual Sundance Film Festival. This year, due to John's super full time school, we decided not to to get passes and pre-order. But we are managing to make it to a few screenings, just only in SLC.

On Saturday, we saw happythankyoumoreplease, written, directed and starring Josh Radnor from HIMYM. We are total addicts to this show, and it was all I have ever seen him in. It was interesting to see him in a different role, one where he was somewhat commitment phobic (very unlike Ted).

However, after the screening, when he did the Q&A -- wow, his mannerisms are just like Ted's. Having no acting experience, minus the old days of musical theater (musicals are overacting not acting), I wonder how much of Ted's character came from him or if he picked up the mannerisms from doing them so often. I think it would be difficult to play a character over and over because wouldn't you start to wonder at one point who you really were.

But then again, throughout our lives, we all play characters. We are different people around our parents, our friends, our bosses. With John's philosophy classes, we have spent a lot of time discussing what we believe in, what we don't, which philosopher's we agree with. Okay, this all sounds more deep than it is. Getting to the point . . . John & I don't agree on everything - not even close. Yet, I am so grateful for that. I appreciate that I am married to someone who I can have these conversations with, who accepts me no matter what, who loves me even when vehemently disagreeing with me. The name of the film comes from a story a character is told that she needs to thank the universe all the time and ask for more happiness. So, in a nod to how fortunate I am to have the best husband in the world - thank you, more please.
